A Message from Our Principal

Dear IS 25Q’s Students, Families, and Faculty,

I am excited and honored to introduce myself as IS 25Q’s interim acting principal. 

I would like to thank Principal Nancy DePaolo and Superintendent Dr. Dantona for being supportive and caring in ensuring the continued success for IS 25Q’s students, families, and faculty. They have helped me to further understand and reflect on the meaningful work and accomplishments of the IS 25Q Community. I feel prepared to continue building upon the incredible work already in place at our school.

As the son of Bengali immigrants and a former student of the New York City Public Schools’ system, my subsequent 16 years as an educator showed me the value of equitable, collaborative learning. My parents passed on a lesson that believed the growth and success of a community starts with the individual. This belief helped me directly serve students and families as a special 
education teacher at a middle school and then an assistant principal at an elementary school. I have had the privilege and responsibility of supporting all of our students and families in meeting their instructional, social emotional needs; ensuring our youth receive a quality, equitable education, and a tailored path to a successful future. I believe this aligns with IS 25Q’s 
commitment to its families and students. 

IS 25Q’s longstanding work in academic excellence, student achievements, and family support is inspiring. My goal is to build on the school’s great practices and beliefs to further extend and assure students’ success in academic, social emotional growth, and, ultimately, achieve their fullest potential. 

As we go into the 2025-2026 school year, I am eager to work with our students, families and faculty in meeting our school community’s needs and aspirations. I believe this can be achieved by listening and learning to further IS 25Q’s mission in evolving and maintaining a successful school community. I also believe that in our care and reflection of our school, we will find new 
and innovative ways to pave the path for our youth’s greatest accomplishments.
